Blank Spoon
Start your spoon carving journey with a solid foundation. Our blank spoons are available in soft basswood or rich walnut, so you can choose the wood that best matches your experience and mood.
Basswood is ideal for beginners. It is soft, forgiving, and easy to carve, making it perfect for learning basic techniques and building confidence as you shape your first spoons.
Walnut offers a more satisfying challenge. It is denser and slower to carve, with a beautiful natural grain that rewards patience and careful work. Many makers enjoy walnut once they are ready to push their skills a little further.
If you began with basswood, walnut is a great next step to explore new textures, strength, and depth in your carving practice.
